Final Post from Boston

We've had a fun final week in Boston! We visited the park one final time, we visited our favorite sushi restaurant one final time, and we went to watch a movie.  We also got to see the Red Sox and "the green monster".  It is a really beautiful stadium.  (Thanks Uncle Heni for helping get the tickets!)

While here we learned some Fun Facts about Fenway:

1.  The Red Seat - Section 42, Row 37, Seat 21. This is the place where Ted Williams hit a 502-foot home run in June of 1946, which is still the longest home run in Fenway Park history.

2.  The Green Monster - Built in 1914 to keep passersby from watching the game for free. The inside of the wall contains hundreds of signatures from current and former baseball players who sign the wall on their first visit to Fenway.

3.  Fenway is the oldest ballpark still used professionally ..... and the smallest

We fly out Saturday morning.  I wish I could say I'm ready to get home but the truth is I'm going to miss Austin too much to enjoy heading home! Romney better win to make this worth it!!!!!!!!

Love you all,

Another Family Visit

Lolly visited this week! We had a fun time showing her around Boston. We packed a lot in to one week since we're leaving soon!

We went back to the Old North Church....

and discovered Paul Revere Mall right behind it.

We finally made it to Frog Pond!  The kids had a good time but kept asking to leave to go to the playground.

We ate at the oldest restaurant in America.... Union Oyster House

We also visited the Bunker Hill Monument...unfortunately we couldn't go up because of the heat.  (It was only 85 but...?)

We visited the U.S.S. Constitution.  This was one of the coolest thing we've done. (for me -  not the kids) It was just really amazing to stand on the wooden deck of such an historic ship.

I had to keep explaining to Bo that "yes, those were real cannons".

Ebbie tried on some of the historic head gear - which I think looks pretty cute on her.

Lastly, we went to the Boston's Children's Museum.  Sorry I don't have better pictures - we were busy playing!!

 Love y'all!

4th of July in Boston

Mam came to town to celebrate the 4th with us!

We sat on the bridge to watch the fireworks! Everybody was really tired and it started raining but it was still fun!

We finally found a beach that was enjoyable.  It's about 30 mins outside of Boston in Manchester-by-the-Sea.

Love y"all!

Still having fun

We took a trip to Kennebunkport Maine

President and Mrs. Bush's House at Kennebunkport.  Zoom in - That's her!

Overlooking the water at Kennebunkport

Back in Boston, we went to the "beach".  I have to say, this is the first time I got truly homesick...I needed the soft sand of the Gulf Coast.

We toured part of the Freedom Trail and saw.....

Copp's Hill Burial Ground

The Old North Church..."one if by land, two if by sea"

The inside of the church

Ebbie "reading" her hymnal
It's really neat inside. They have family boxes instead of pews straight across so that they could close the doors and keep warm.
Paul Revere's House

We got a little gum out of our hair with Good ol' peanut butter...

Played with Play doh.....

And, went Kayaking......

Still having lots of fun!!
Love y'all,
Deidre
